Seeding of a Ghost (1983)

Synopsis

The movie Seeding of a Ghost (1983) follows a Hong Kong taxi driver who becomes involved with a seductive woman, unaware she is actually a ghost seeking to conceive a child.

Cabbie Ah Fong picks up a beautiful woman who leaves a pile of gold in his backseat, directing him to return it to her the next day. Fong keeps the gold and attempts spending it, only to be cursed with bad luck.

The movie Seeding of a Ghost (1983) shows Fong visiting mediums trying to lift the curse. They inform him the woman was a vengeful spirit who slept with men in order to conceive a child and continue her bloodline. Now Fong must help her achieve this goal.

Fong attempts resisting the ghost but she inflicts misfortune on his family. Left with no choice, he agrees to the ghost’s demands. In the climax, the act results in the conception of a daughter who will carry on the ghost’s lineage.

With its sensual ghost premise, the movie Seeding of a Ghost (1983) offers a uniquely Hong Kong take on the erotic supernatural horror genre.
