After debuting in Early Access for PC via Steam in September of last year, Perp Games’ Afterlife VR will soon be available on Sony’s PlayStation VR2, releasing on April 19th through the PlayStation Store. The announcement of the release date coincides with the launch of a new trailer for the game, developed by Split Light Studio, which showcases some of the gameplay. The addition of Afterlife VR to the PS VR2 library is sure to be well-received by horror game enthusiasts.
The game places players in the shoes of rookie police officer Adam Bernhard, in a deeply immersive horror game where he investigates the Black Rose mental hospital, where his sister, Allison, is a patient. There, Adam uncovers missing patients, workers, and the mysterious Indigo Children phenomenon.
With a blood-chilling story that challenges the senses, Afterlife VR appears to feature innovative puzzle designs that make full use of the PSVR2’s redesigned motion controls, and Adam’s telekinetic powers that allow players to fend off enemies using either firearms or psychic abilities.
Split Light Studio previously released Pirates VR, which is immersive in its own way. Certainly a horror game from the same creators will be an interesting addition to the VR ecosphere.
