Kelsey Asbille (known for her role in Yellowstone) and Finn Wittrock (American Horror Story) have officially joined the cast of the upcoming horror movie Don’t Move. The highly anticipated project will be produced by the renowned figure in the genre, Sam Raimi, as confirmed exclusively by The Hollywood Reporter.
Principal photography is set to commence in Europe next month, led by Adam Schindler and Brian Netto, who previously directed episodes for Raimi’s anthology series, 50 States of Fright. The movie Don’t Move, penned by T.J. Cimfel and David White, writers behind the 2015 home invasion movie Intruders and the recent chilling film There’s Something Wrong with the Children, delves into the story of a seasoned killer who administers a paralyzing agent to a grieving woman. As her body progressively shuts down, she must navigate a perilous pursuit, relying on her instincts to flee, fight, and conceal herself.
The production of Don’t Move is a collaborative effort between Raimi Productions, Hammerstone Studios, and Capstone Studios. Joining Sam Raimi as producers are Zainab Azizi and Hammerstone’s Alex Lebovici. Additionally, Schindler and Netto will take on executive producer roles alongside David Haring, Marc Manus, Petr Jákl, Ruzanna Kegeyan, Sarah Sarandos, Ara Keshishian, and Capstone’s Christian Mercuri. The financing for the project is provided by Hammerstone and Capstone, while Capstone Global will handle the worldwide distribution rights.
Schindler and Netto previously talked about Don’t Move: “We are beyond thrilled to make this absolute white-knuckle ride of a film with talents such as Kelsey and Finn. On top of that, we get to team with the teams at Raimi, Capstone and Hammerstone — companies operating at the top of the genre game. We could not be more excited to get to work.”
Lebovici added: “The fiercely talented Kelsey and Finn have taken starring turns in some of the most beloved suspense-driven projects currently in the market, making the perfect pair to bring this visceral, pulse-racing story to life.”
Raimi has talked about the project previously as well. He saidL “Alex and the team at Hammerstone as well as our friends at Capstone are the ideal production partners as we bring this compelling and twisted tale to light. I am delighted to collaborate again with our co-directors Adam and Brian on this incredibly frightening and tense story full of so many twists and turns – it will deliver a fantastic horror punch to the audience!”
