Synopsis

The movie A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) introduces the iconic slasher villain Freddy Krueger, who stalks and kills teenagers in their dreams.

In the town of Springwood, a group of teens start experiencing disturbing nightmares in which they are stalked by a badly scarred man with knives for fingers. It soon becomes clear the dream stalker can actually kill them in their nightmares, causing their deaths in the real world.

The movie A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) follows Nancy Thompson and her boyfriend Glen as they investigate the origin of the burned killer Freddy Krueger. They learn he murdered children years ago but mob justice failed to kill him. Now Freddy seeks revenge on the teens of Springwood.

With her friends dying one by one in their sleep, Nancy devises a desperate plan to pull Freddy from the dream world and defeat him. After a harrowing showdown, Nancy seems to destroy Freddy, but the final scene suggests he lives on to continue haunting dreams.
