Synopsis
The movie Predator 2 (1990) is a science fiction action sequel directed by Stephen Hopkins and starring Danny Glover, Gary Busey, Rubén Blades, and Kevin Peter Hall. Set in 1997 Los Angeles, it continues the story of the Predator alien hunters from the 1987 original.
The movie Predator 2 (1990) opens with the Predator arriving in LA during a heatwave and violent gang warfare. LAPD Lieutenant Mike Harrigan (Glover) is determined to end the gang violence, putting him in conflict with Special Agent Peter Keyes (Busey) who is secretly investigating the Predator. As both the Predator and the cops hunt the gangs, the Predator starts hunting the cops as more challenging prey.
Harrigan and his team eventually come face to face with the Predator and discover the alien has been hiding in an underground slaughterhouse. After a confrontation, the Predator escapes. Keyes reveals to Harrigan that the Predator is an alien hunter that has been visiting Earth for centuries. Harrigan vows to take down the Predator. He tracks it to its ship and after a final duel, Harrigan kills the Predator. On the ship, he finds evidence of other Predators coming to Earth.
The movie Predator 2 (1990) expanded the Predator mythology by setting it in an urban environment and introducing new weaponry and lore. .
